Renault Trucks is getting back into the Truck Racing adventure with a new team for the 2010 season. Because the end of the contract with Team Frankie has in no way dampened Renault Trucks' passion for the excitement of truck racing. The MKR Technology team will now be flying the RT colours on the racetracks, with Renault Trucks undertaking to supply them with its "engine" technology and assistance during the races. It has also developed a brand new design for the two racing vehicles. Renault Trucks and MKII Technology are joining forces with just one goal in view - to win the championship!
Although 2010 marks the end of the partnership with Team Frankie, it also marks the beginning of the brand new partnership between Renault Trucks and the MKR Technology team. This team is led by Mario Kress, one of the discipline's greatest specialists, and made up of professionals in the Truck Racing field. It will be entering two trucks this season, driven by well-known personalities with impressive track records: the Swiss driver Marcus Bösiger and the German Markus Oestreich. The design of these two trucks has been entirely created by the Halle du Design, an organisation belonging to Renault Trucks. These powerful beasts are equipped with DXi13 "Racing" engines designed by Renault Trucks with specific new characteristics. RT will of course be providing the team with assistance during the races as well as Team 14.
Renault Trucks' participation in the European Championship for a new season clearly demonstrates its commitment to Truck Racing. For this reason, RT has decided to create its own Renault Trucks Racing brand identity in line with the new Renault Trucks Deliver claim and its new MKR Technology team.
The new aspects of Renault Trucks Racing are as follows: a new design for the trucks, a revamped Internet site online from the start of the first 2010 European Championships race in Mizano on 22 and 23 May, a large number of "goodies", and also a forthcoming upgraded version of the famous "Truck Racing by Renault Trucks" video game, featuring new racetracks and new trucks. Furthermore, Renault Trucks will be present at each race, with a special VIP area set aside for its customers and partners.
The Truck Racing calendar runs from the month of May to October 2010, and will take place in six different countries: Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the Czech Republic and Belgium.
