RENAULT TRUCKS AND THOMANN NUTZFAHRZEUGE WILL SUPPLY THE TRUCKS FOR THE BMW SAUBER F1
As key, central elements of Formula 1 logistics, trucks transport F1 race cars and equipment to all the circuits in the world throughout the season. Now, Renault Trucks is strengthening its presence in the paddocks by becoming exclusive truck supplier to the F1 Team of Peter Sauber via the Swiss company Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge AG via a recent partnership agreement. Throughout the season, four Magnum tractors 520 4x2, eight Premium Route tractors 460.18 4x2, two Premium Route chassis/cabs 460.26 6x2 and one Midlum 300.12 4x2 will be used for logistics over the nine Grand Prix of the World Championships that take place in Europe.
As a shop window of technology and excellence in automobile sport, Formula 1 has always used trucks to install its paddocks and transport race cars and equipment to the four corners of the globe. Renault Trucks has just strengthened its presence in this sport by becoming through his partner, Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge AG, official supplier to the F1 Team of Peter Sauber for the European 2010 season which starts with the Spanish Grand Prix on May 9th.
Signed by the Swiss company Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge AG, the partnership covers the supply of 15 Renault Trucks and the presence of the Swiss company’s name as Official Supplier of the F1 Team. The concept of the family company, created in 1995, is to provide a 24-hour per day, 365 days per year service to its customers. Its slogan is “flexibility: our strength, your benefit”. This philosophy obviously won over Peter Sauber, the team boss of the F1 Team: “Being capable of reacting rapidly with innovatory solutions is the very essence of Formula 1. It is also crucial to have reliable, high quality trucks. We hope this will be a fruitful partnership.”
Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge AG and SAUBER Motorsport AG will certainly not regret the trust they have placed in Renault Trucks. The manufacturer sees this as a great opportunity to combine the world of road transport with car racing and to prove its worth in this high-profile category.
