After their highly successful Dakar 2010, the Renault Kerax and Renault Sherpa were soon back on the road. For in April 2010, Renault Trucks Argentina organised a major tour of the country, the "Argentina - Chile Rally 2010" to give the Argentinian public a taste of the unique Dakar experience. At the same time as this was taking place, Renault Trucks launched its range of "Rally" vehicles in Argentina - a limited edition based on the Renault Premium Lander 440 DXi. And to round off the Renault Trucks Dakar 2010 adventure, a photo exhibition entitled "9,000 km of enthusiasm" was organised at the Borges cultural centre in Buenos Aires.
Organised for the very first time in Argentina, the "Rally Argentina - Chile 2010" tour lasted almost 20 days. After having taken part in the latest edition of the Dakar Rally, the Renault Sherpa and Renault Kerax travelled through six provinces in Argentina, visiting six Renault Trucks dealers on the way. The idea was to cross the length and breadth of the country, visiting each Renault Trucks dealership and visiting towns that were not on the Dakar itinerary. An initiative which gave the adventure a broader dimension by enabling the Argentinian public to share in the unique Dakar experience - and at the same time strengthen ties with customers.
The caravan called in at the towns of Bahía Blanca, Mendoza, Tucumán, Córoba, Santa Fé and Buenos Aires. Each stopover lasted two days, during which visitors were able to test drive the vehicles, become familiar with Renault Trucks products and services, and also watch a fascinating film about all the work done during the Dakar 2010. It also showed the stars of the tour, the Renault Sherpa and Renault Kerax, in the heat of the action!
To coincide with the "Argentina - Chile 2010 Rally", Renault launched its "Rally" range in Argentina, to commemorate the 2010 edition of the famous Dakar. Production of this special edition, based on the Premium Lander 440 DXi 4x2T, will be limited to just 50 vehicles. The "Rally" Premium Lander stands out by the fairings on its chassis, its reinforced bumpers and sticker decoration in the colours of the Dakar Kerax and Sherpa. In addition, these vehicles boast a unique fit and finish and also feature equipment that ensures comfort, safety and well-being for both driver and passenger.
To round off the Renault Trucks Dakar 2010 adventure, a photo exhibition entitled "9,000 km of enthusiasm", retracing the challenges faced and overcome by the Renault Kerax and Sherpa assistance vehicles on the Dakar 2010, was organised at the Borges cultural centre in Buenos Aires. These photos have been published in a book that tells the story of this adventure, and also made Renault Trucks one of the 14 finalists in the prestigious 2010 New York Photo Festival competition.
