Renault Trucks created quite a stir with its stand and innovative solutions during the Samoter exhibition which took place from 2 to 6 March 2011 in Verona, Italy. Samoter, which attracted over 100,000 visitors, enabled the manufacturer to give a preview presentation of the Premium Lander 4x2 OptiTrack as well as other models from its Construction range. In the course of these five days, over 400 customers had the opportunity of test driving two Kerax 8x4 vehicles under real operating conditions on a 2,000 m² demonstration area. Samoter was also positive for Renault Trucks in terms of vehicle sales.
With almost 100,000 visitors in five days, the Samoter International Earth-moving and Building Machinery Exhibition in Italy was a success. Renault Trucks was there, presenting its full range of worksite and site supply vehicles. The Premium Lander OptiTrack, given an exclusive preview presentation, caused quite a stir and was undoubtedly one of the stars of the show. With its innovative solutions and two hydraulic motors incorporated into the wheels, the Premium Lander OptiTrack is able to switch from a conventional 4x2 transmission to a temporary 4x4 transmission simply by pressing a button on the dashboard. This means it can be adapted to handle all kinds of conditions, an undeniable advantage for a vehicle designed to operate on construction sites.
Visitors were able to get information about vehicles in the Construction range on a 900 m² stand and also relive the highlights of the Cape to Cape expedition as well as the Dakar 2011 in the area dedicated to the Sherpa. They also had their first opportunity in Italy to see the Renault Premium Distribution Hybrys Tech hybrid vehicle.Outside the exhibition hall, a 2,000 m² demonstration area had been specially prepared with artificial dunes to allow customers to test drive two Kerax 8x4 vehicles under actual operating conditions. More than 400 test drives were organised during the course of the show.
On the Exhibition's inaugural day, the press conference held by Stefano Chmielewski, CEO of Renault Trucks and Gino Costa, Managing Director of Renault Trucks Italy, attracted 50 journalists, clearly demonstrating their keen interest in the innovative solutions being presented by the French manufacturer.
And, to top it all, the Samoter exhibition was also highly successful in terms of sales. Several orders were placed during the show, while others which had been pending were finalised during this memorable event.
