Renault Trucks France has just delivered 15 Renault Midlum 270 hp vehicles for the CRS (Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité - Republican Security Corps) to the French Ministry of the Interior. These will be used as "logistics" vehicles to carry equipment officers need to do their job during assignments, as well as their personal belongings. This delivery is in line with the Ministry's plan to replace its "logistics" fleet and comes in addition to the 20 Renault Midlum and 60 Premium Distribution vehicles already delivered between 2006 and 2008.
The French Ministry for the Interior and the CRS are continuing to rely on Renault Trucks for the replacement of their "logistics" fleet, and have just taken delivery of 15 new Renault Midlum 13 ton 270 hp vehicles. These trucks are fitted with a 30 m³ body and an elevator tailgate. Designed to provide "logistics" functions backing up "Law Enforcement Vehicles", they will be carrying the equipment officers need to use in the course of their various assignments. With this order, the Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité are pursuing the programme to upgrade their fleet which already includes the 20 Midlums delivered in 2008 and the 60 Premium Distribution vehicles delivered between 2006 and 2007.
The key presentation ceremony took place in the town of Coutances in Normandy, only 100 km from the Renault Trucks Blainville-sur-Orne plant where the Midlum vehicles were manufactured. It was attended by the Ministry's Mobile Facilities Procurement Director, the deputy Director of the CRS and his assistant commandant, the commandant in charge of the Avignon company, some 30 Police officials, the UGAP Procurement Director, the mayor of Coutances, M. and Mme Régnault (long established bodybuilders for the Ministry) and Messieurs Demagny and Carrara for Renault Trucks.
