15th training session of WFP employees by Renault Trucks
Through its partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Renault Trucks will be training anglophone trainers from November 13th to 15th in Kampala, Uganda.
Despite budgetary constraints, in 2017 WFP teams in Uganda provided food assistance to 1, 366, 000 people in need, including 1, 2 million of refugees living in camps. Other countries where the WFP operates (Afghanistan, Haiti, Liberia, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Sudan and South Sudan) will also be represented during this training session.
The training module “Training of Trainers”, which will be taught during these 5 days, aims at ensuring long term benefits of the partnership. Indeed, by training trainers, the goal is to gradually enable WFP to manage its training needs autonomously.
This 15th training session marks the end of a 5 year long collaboration cycle. The fact that it will be held in Uganda is particularly symbolic since it is where the adventure started in 2012 with the first training session dedicated to mechanics.
