Renault Trucks manufactured its 100,000th Midlum, a must in its Distribution range, initially launched in 2000. Manufactured entirely at the Blainville-sur-Orne (Calvados) plant, Midlum has had a sparkling career. As a symbol of its success, the 100,000th Midlum was presented to Dupont Bedu Transports, a company specialising in courier services by Renault Trucks’ production director, Olivier Vidal de la Blache.
The 100,000th Midlum has come off the assembly lines of Renault Trucks’ plant in Blainville-sur-Orne (Calvados). For the occasion, Olivier Vidal de la Blache, Renault Trucks’ production director, handed over the keys of this highly symbolic vehicle to Alain Derennes, CEO of Dupont Bedu Transports.
Launched in 2000, Renault Midlum is, along with Premium Distribution, part of Renault Trucks’ Distribution range. Thanks to its 75 different configurations, it can easily be adapted to the specific needs and businesses of our customers in the areas of courier services, waste collection, roadworks and even the fire service. Its robotised Optitronic gearbox allows it to combine ease of driving, safety and reduced fuel consumption.
Renault Midlum is entirely manufactured at Renault Trucks’ Blainville-sur-Orne plant, also home to all assembly activities for the manufacturer’s commercial vehicle cabs. The site currently employs 2,500 people.
Dupont Bedu Transports, operating out of Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain), is specialised in courier services. It employs 60 drivers who deliver to between 1,300 and 1,500 clients daily. The acquisition of this Renault Midlum supplements its 53-vehicle fleet.
This 100,000th Midlum says a lot about the success of the vehicle and the satisfaction it offers to customers. It reinforces Renault Trucks’ determination to make Midlum and Premium Distribution the references in the distribution business.
