Renault Trucks at the Comtrans show in Moscow

Renault Trucks brought the French art of living to the Comtrans Tradeshow which took place in Moscow from 13 to 19 September 2011. Renault Trucks, exhibiting the flagship models from its Long Distance, Construction and Distribution ranges, took advantage of this event to bring a small piece of France to Russia. This consisted of an opportunity for visitors to taste some French gastronomic specialities, baguettes or croissants - and there was even an accordion player providing a delightful musical accompaniment to the Renault Trucks displays for the enjoyment of the 20,220 visitors who came to the exhibition.

During the 2011 edition of the Comtrans tradeshow which took place from 13 to 19 September in Moscow, Renault Trucks presented the flagship models from its Long Distance, Construction and Distribution ranges for the Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian markets.

This gave the 20,220 visitors to the show the opportunity of viewing a Renault Magnum 520 hp in the Long Distance part of the Renault Trucks stand, together with a Renault Premium Long Distance 420 hp, one of the most popular long haul vehicles in Russia.

In the dusty atmosphere of a construction site, surrounded by metal barriers, the 440 hp 8x4 and the 380 hp 6x4 versions of the Renault Kerax, together with a 440 hp 6x4 Renault Premium Lander were put through their paces in their familiar working environment.

From the Distribution range, the Renault Midlum 240 hp, fitted with a refrigerated Thermo King body, fulfilled its usual function of distributing food products by being used as a wine and cheese "cellar" for the stand's visitors! A Renault Premium Distribution 340 hp equipped with a car transporter trailer completed the range of models on display.

Finally, motorsports enthusiasts visiting the area dedicated to Truck Racing were able to appreciate the Premium Truck Racing 460 hp special edition, an exhibition of the finest photos of the racing season and, of course, the European Championship Trophy which the Renault Trucks Team won in 2010.

The rest of the stand, fully focused on the French art of living, was built around a "French Café" offering croissants, baguettes and other French gastronomic delights. All of which was accompanied by the joyful, lilting music of an accordionist, mime shows and even a street artist. In other words, a genuine taste of France on the Renault Trucks stand in Russia!

The Comtrans exhibition was also an opportunity for Renault Trucks to congratulate Seguei Sapronov, the Magnum driver who recently saved the lives of 8 people during a fire. As he was driving along in his Renault Magnum, he saw smoke coming out of a house and immediately sounded his horn to warn the occupants, notify the fire brigade and emergency rescue services to get them out of the burning building. A fine example of trucker solidarity. In order to thank Serguei for this noble act, Renault Trucks offered him 3 years’ free servicing for his vehicle.
