9 Renault Premium Distribution already delivered to Coca-Cola Entreprises Belgium – 90 more to come !
On July 16th, Renault Trucks handed over the keys of nine Renault Premium Distribution 410 26 T 6x2s to Rudy Goossens, Division Transport Manager at Coca-Cola Enterprises Belgium. The nine vehicles are a first instalment of no fewer than ninety which will supplement Coca-Cola’s Belgian fleet between now and 2010.
Ninety Renault Trucks Premium Distribution vehicles, meeting Euro V standard amongst others, to be delivered over the next two years, are equipped with the Optidriver+ automatic gear box, Optibrake engine brake and a blind angle camera. Their features include a weighing mechanism to avoid overload. Nine vehicles were delivered in July; thirty-nine will be delivered before the end of this year and another wave of thirty eight will follow in 2010. The keys of the last twelve vehicles will be handed over in 2011.
Coca-Cola is using Renault Trucks for the first time for their automotive fleet, with good reasons to do so. For Rudy Goossens, Division Transport Manager at Coca-Cola enterprises Belgium: “We launched a call for tenders and Renault Trucks presented the best results in terms of the three key aspects i.e. price, but also service level agreements and the environmental improvements in the product. The fact that Renault Trucks have service outlets not far from each of our distribution centres was a key element for accessibility for our fleet. The latter comprises a total of 230 trucks, of which 90 Renaults over the next three years. For ourselves, maintenance is a key role to guarantee the continuity of our fleet’s service. Our choice of Renault Trucks was also guided by the improvements to environmental standards on the vehicles chosen, which meet Euro5 requirements on emissions which come in on October 1st 2009. On average, we’re looking at CO2 emissions savings of almost 5% compared to our existing fleet”.
For Luc Vleugels , Key Account Manager at Renault Trucks Belgium: “It goes without saying that during these times, it’s a great operation to sign up a long term agreement with a global player such as Coca-Cola. Given the company’s demanding criteria when they grow their fleet or replace certain vehicles, we see this as an indication of their faith in Renault’s good services. This gets Renault Trucks back in the spotlight and gives it some well-deserved recognition.”
RENULT TRUCKS IS NEVER FAR AWAY
“The combination of quality products and quality services that we are able to deliver has undoubtedly played a key role in the choice being made in Renault Trucks’ favour.” declared Luc Vleugels, as the keys of the first 9 Renault Premium Distributions were handed over. “Also, our network is very closely linked to the different Coca-Cola sites which means that Renault Trucks is never really far away.”
The contract with Coca-Cola enterprises Belgium also includes a maintenance and repair contract. The maintenance of some of the vehicles will therefore be covered by RTCE Brabant, who were a key player in this deal.
