Leader on the fire-fighting vehicle market, Renault Trucks further improves its range
Renault Trucks offers a "fire-fighting" range which covers all fire-fighting service needs with 4x2 and 4x4 vehicles specifically dedicated to fire-fighting and rescue operations that fully comply with European standards. These vehicles are able to respond to the various missions carried out by fire-fighters (rescue operations, fires, road accidents, protection of property, etc.) and in a variety of different locations (built-up areas, forests, industrial sites, rough terrain, etc.). Detailed in the dedicated press pack, these vehicles - from the Master to the Kerax - are configured according to the purpose for which they will be used: The Mascott VSR (intervention and rescue vehicle), Midlum FPT (Fire Tender) and Kerax CCF (Forest Fire Tender), or others. All benefit from Renault Trucks' experience in terms of body capacity, payload and mobility over rough terrain. Furthermore, by choosing Renault Trucks, fire-fighters know they can rely on a service provided by professionals for professionals at its 1,200 assistance centres, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For 2009, the cab on the new Midlum has been extended by 18 cm and the shape of the bodywork revised. This difference in size makes the cab more spacious and easier to access, thereby improving the working conditions of fire-fighters, who have to climb in and out several times a day. Similarly, Renault Trucks is now making the Optitronic robotised gearbox available on its "fire-fighting" versions of the Midlum 4x2. Apart from reducing consumption by up to 7% and cutting maintenance costs by eliminating the risk of engine or gearbox failure due to over-speeding, it provides the day-to-day working comfort which allows fire-fighters to concentrate solely on the mission in hand.
