126 PREMIUM LONG DISTANCE VEHICLES FOR CATONE, ONE OF ITALY'S LARGEST REFRIGERATED TRANSPORT CARRIERS
Renault Trucks is to deliver 126 Premium Long Distance vehicles to Catone, an Italian company specialised in international refrigerated transport. Currently operating a fleet of 137 trucks, all of them supplied by an Italian manufacturer, it has now decided to opt for Renault Trucks. The main reasons for choosing the Premium Long Distance were the vehicle's excellent road handling, very good payload and low consumption. The contract concerns 126 Premium Long Distance 460 hp Euro V trucks, 30 of which were delivered at the end of 2010. The remaining vehicles will be delivered in the course of this year.
By delivering 126 Renault Premium Long Distance vehicles to the Catone Group, Renault Trucks has established a significant foothold in the Group's fleet development plans, since all of the 137 vehicles it currently operates are of Italian manufacture. Before deciding to adopt the Premium Long Distance, Catone managers were able to test the vehicle and appreciate its roadholding qualities, low consumption and excellent payload. As a result of these trials, they decided that the Premium Long Distance was the truck that best satisfied all their demands and the stringent requirements that are associated with refrigerated transport.
Furthermore, Catone had been introduced to the Optifuel solutions, which cover all the tools Renault Trucks deploys to significantly reduce consumption, during an Optifuel event organised in Naples in September 2010.
The first 30 vehicles were delivered at the end of 2010, and the remaining 96 are due for delivery throughout the course of 2011.
