100,000 engines manufactured at Vénissieux

The Volvo Group engine plant inaugurated at the end of 2004 on Renault Trucks’ Vénissieux site (Rhône) has just seen the 100,000th engine come off its production lines.

Specialising in the production of 9- to 11-litre engines, the Vénissieux plant supplies the Group with components for trucks, coaches, buses, worksite machinery and for marine and industrial applications.

The plant, with its workforce of 800, produced 45,000 engines in 2007 and during the first quarter recorded daily output rates of around 250 units.  The site was inaugurated in September 2004 further to €42m of investment.
