One year after the Cape to Cape expedition passed through Sofia, Renault Trucks is supplying 100 Kerax to build Bulgaria's major East-West motorway, currently the country's largest construction site. The Trace Group AD, the project's main contractor, will be taking delivery of 80 Kerax 8x4 and 20 Kerax 6x4 tippers with reinforced chassis between now and September. The sale also covers the benefits of the Optifuel Programme which, in particular, includes a course of instruction in economic driving adapted to Construction activities.
When the Cape to Cape caravan made its way across Bulgaria last year, Renault Trucks was given an extremely warm welcome from the people and also generated a great deal of good feeling among local authorities and customers. One year on, this highly positive impression has translated into the delivery of 100 Kerax (between now and September) to the Trace Group AD which is undertaking the country's largest ongoing construction project, the Trakia East-West motorway. The vehicles concerned are Kerax 8x4s (80 units) and Kerax 6x4s (20 units) fitted with tipper bodies and reinforced chassis. They will mainly be working on the section between the towns of Stara Zagora and Nova Zagora. They are equipped with the latest generation Euro 5 engine and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) depollution technology.
During the Construction Days organised by the manufacturer at the beginning of April, the Trace Group AD was able to fully appreciate the savings in consumption that could be achieved using Renault Trucks Optifuel Solutions. It therefore decided to sign up to the Optifuel Programme of exclusive services which Renault Trucks makes available to its customers, enabling them to cut consumption by up to 15%. These include:
- Optifuel Training, an instruction programme in economic driving provided by Renault Trucks' experts which the Group's drivers have already completed
- Optifuel Infomax, the consumption measuring and analysis software
- the Club Optifuel Programme, which provides practical tools to help operators set up a long-term consumption cutting plan via a dedicated Internet site.
This delivery for such a major international construction site proves Renault Trucks' appeal, both in terms of its vehicles' quality and the services that go with them, which add up to very real and appreciable benefits for its customers.
