reducing the impact

Environment

Renault Trucks is committed to reduce the impact that road freight transport has on the environment.

The core business of Renault Trucks, essentially component assembly, scarcely generates pollution, but operating the vehicles it produces is a source of nuisance. Renault Trucks uses considerable human and financial resources to minimise these nuisances throughout the life cycle of its vehicles.

A collective involvement

The truck-building sector has obtained spectacular results in its efforts to reduce diesel engine exhaust emissions. Since the introduction of the European regulations in 1990, emission levels have been cut by 5 to 20 times for a variety of substances, with more than 70 % for NOx, and more than 90 % for particles. In order to ensure that its engines comply with the latest standards without degrading performance while at the same time offering even better fuel efficiency, Renault Trucks has opted to implement a technology known as SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction).

Now, faced with the global challenge of climate change and the implication of CO2 emissions, Renault Trucks continues to develop ever more fuel efficient solutions as well as offer alternative drivelines ( hybrid, full electric or CNG vehicles, optimized diesel engines, eco-driving training, on-board monitoring software).

A shared commitment

In order to contribute to the introduction of efficient and lasting transport solutions, Renault Trucks implements an environment policy based on clear commitments and a rigorous system of management involving dealers, suppliers and partners as well. Renault Trucks manufacturing plants are designed to limit raw material consumption and waste generation. Every vehicle is manufactured with the aim of reusing a maximum amount of its component materials (90% of the parts used are recyclable). Each plant is ISO 14001 certified.
